| Abstract | Edge detection is a very important stage in the processing of image information. When the edge detection is performed on range images it provides much more information than the edge detection based only on intensity images because range images have explicit 3-D information. In this paper, we present a study of how to detect step and roof edges on range images, that, when combined, can be used, for example, to give an aproximate number of image´s regions. We also deve morfology based algorithm to perform thinning operation on the detected edges. |
